Global Conferences

Global alumni conferences are held on an annual basis with the aim to inspire more IITians to join the movement and at the same provide networking and bonding opportunities to relive those cherished moments with batch-mates, juniors and seniors. Also, directors of alma mater tend to join the event making as such platforms as one of important interfaces for alumni inputs to the current functioning of the IITs. Every alternate year, the conference is held outside India, typically in the US, to reach out to alumni staying abroad. In 2002 and 2003, the global conferences were held in San Jose and Bengaluri.

 

Global Conference 2009 – Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Global Ecomony

The PanIIT 2009 Global Conference was held between 9th and 11th October at Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center, Chicago, USA. The event, attended by over 2,500 delegates, addressed the challenges and opportunities in key industries such as alternative energy, healthcare, digital infrastructure and climate change. Global Conference 2008 – Inspire, Innovate and Transform

The 2008 event was held between 19th and 21st December at the IIT Madras campus in Chennai, India. The focus of the conference was to inspire IITians to get involved to transform India. Click here for more.

Global Conference 2007 – Transforming the World through Technology

The 2007 edition was held in Santa Clara, California, US. Attended by over 3,500 alumni, the theme of the conference was ‘Transforming the World through Technology’. Click here for more.

 

Global Conference 2006 – Inspire, Involve, Transform India

In the PanIIT conference 2006, 5,000 IITians came together in Mumbai, India. The theme of the conference was ‘Inspire, Involve and Transform India’ through IIT Alumni. Click here for more.

 

Global Conference 2005 – Technology without Borders

The theme of the 2005 conference, held in May 2005 in Bethesda, Maryland (USA), was ‘Technology without Borders’. The aim of the conference was targeted at developing sustainable initiatives that can benefit both the IITs and its alumni.

 

Global Conference 2004 – Empower India

The 2004 event in Delhi – whose theme was Empower India – was the turning point for the movement, when it was decided that it should bring Nation Building within its scope. President APJ Abdul Kalam, who gave an inspiring talk at the 2004 event, suggested on involving IITians in developing rural areas and fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship in the hinterland of the country.
