I Create India

I Create IndiaI Create's mission is economic empowerment of the disadvantaged and underprivileged members of society through entrepreneurship training. Through its grassroots level training it has helped create, during the last ten years, over 1,000 entrepreneurs all over India. These cover a wide range from unemployed youth to destitute and deserted women, from the urban poor to tribal and abused and helpless women, who have become entrepreneurs and job creators and live with dignity. It has also conducted entrepreneurship courses in colleges and help change the mind set of students - to become a job-creator instead of seeking a job. I Create's vision is that of a prosperous India spearheaded by small entrepreneurs as job creators.

Background

I Create, Inc (established in U.S.A. in 1999) has been engaged, through its implementing partner, I Create India, in training youth and women in entrepreneurship in India so that they can have an option to start their own small business instead of looking for jobs, which are not there for so many. The program is reaching thousands of disadvantaged members of society. These include women (different sub-groups like widows, destitute, tribal, rural and semi - urban poor), unemployed youth and students from high schools/colleges, vocational institutes.

How we operate

I Create, in partnership with NFTE, has developed country-appropriate program and teaching methodology - for India. This has kept in mind the disadvantaged, urban and rural members of our society - their education level, fluency or lack there-of in English and other socio-economic factors.

Program Delivery

All the programs listed above are delivered by our Master Trainers - trained and certified by I Create. For this purpose we conduct Training of Trainers programs and Refresher courses.

Next Steps

The success achieved so far and the market validation for its programs has given I Create the necessary resolve and confidence to launch growth plans which include:
  • Setting up a National Academy during the year 2010
  • Increasing the number of I Create Centers from 5 to 25 by the year 2015
  • Launching a National Level Change the Mind Set of Youth Program for entrepreneurship education
  • Set up an I Create Angel Fund to help the needy and deserving with Seed Capital
