A Hospital Management System (HMS) product launched by IITians for smaller Hospitals/Clinics in Developing Countries.

There is huge demand of Health Care services in developing countries, which is currently facilitated by Government and/or Private Hospitals/Clinics. In the current scenario, there is huge gap between demand and supply of health care services.

For a country likeIndia with total population of more than a Billion, 14,000 hospitals are not sufficient at all.  There is need to have more hospitals in place and also effective utilization of available hospitals. IT systems/Health care software’s can act as an enabler to deliver quality health care services to more people.

Currently, there is lack of good HMS meant for smaller hospitals/clinics in developing countries. This market is highly fragmented with a lot of local vendors supplying low quality products. In order to solve that problem Binary Mantra Systems (BMS), a company founded by IITians recently launched the enterprise edition of MediOps- their flagship Hospital Management System. The enterprise edition enables outpatient and inpatient management including diagnosis and billing, Medical History, daily treatment and billing for inpatients. Other module of the software automates hospital’s medical store to electronically manage requisitions, issues and inventory of medicines. This is a multi-user system with user management facilities. MediOps Lite, which was released in June 2009, caters to small hospitals/clinics with simple and quick patient registration, case history and billing processes. Doctors and support staff can generate bills within minutes.

Doctors can enquire about a patient’s status on their mobiles sitting at home and also get notified when a new admission takes place. The same information can also be accessed on the web but in much more detail.
