Innovations 2010
The Pune Chapter of IIT Bombay Alumni Association would like to help in developing Innovation in society. They define Innovation as a novel idea in practice. They primarily focus on Innovations originating from Science and Technology. In the past, innovations in the form of processes, products and applications from varied fields such as medicine, agriculture, mechanical /electronic /chemical technology, IT products, etc. have been showcased. Innovations 2010 is the 4th event in the series & will be held on 9th January 2010. Registrations for Innovations 2010 are now open.
Appeal to support our Flagship Initiative
IUCEE has focused on bringing the best practices of the world's most advanced democracy (US) to the world's largest democracy (India) to help improve the yield and quality of engineers graduating from over 2000 engineering colleges. This will pave the way for a strong economic growth. It has four pillars - learner-centric teaching - research excellence - outcomes based quality and accreditation - innovation and entrepreneurship. The results seen over the last two years are very impressive. This was possible because of the support of Dr. Desh Deshpande, and N R Narayana Murthy and their family as also support of Infosys both in terms of facilities and hospitality. New Initiative from Chennai 2008 - Classle
New Initiative from Chennai 2008 - Classle through its unique, innovative and free-for-learners approach addresses this issue to bring a transformation in education. It does that through a learner-centric, community-based approach through innovation and technology. When we look at the process followed by the typical organized education system, it is largely teaching centric which also tends to be teacher-centric. In this setup, the teacher is the only legitimate provider of knowledge. But when we take a learning centric view, we find that there are many more participants in the process – The teacher – The Learner – Peer Learners – Experienced experts. Read more>>

The PanIIT 2009 Global Conference in Chicago was well attended. The agenda included numerous informative workshops and panel discussions on current topics, such as Energy & Environment, Health Care, Infrastructure, Innovations Entrepreneurship, etc. Those who missed attending the conference may peruse some of the proceedings on the website.
