Alok has been writing poetry on an informal basis which have been read and shared by some of his close friends and Abhinav Anubhav is his maiden attempt at it in the form of a book.

 
Abhinav Anubhav are not only the names Alok’s son and nephew (elder brother’s son), these two words also truly reflect the deep feelings from within the core of his being … in other words they aptly describe the thoughts that are very much a part and parcel of his heart and mind. This book, while on one hand reflects the various states which his mind and heart have gone through over the years, on the other hand it does help in giving some form and shape to those ideas which are still in the realm of fantasy far away from the ground realities of life. Encouraged by friends and well wishers and as a result of the dedicated efforts of respected teachers, through this book, there is an effort to express himself in his own ‘part Hindi, part Hindustani, part Urdu, part English ‘ way, wherein he has attempted to put forth some of his beliefs and some of his experiences.
Blessed with a good sense of humour and wit, Alok conveys deep philosophical thoughts using simple words with ease.

 
Alok is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from the IIT Roorkee (1983 Batch). He did his schooling from Cambrian Hall, Dehradun and Colvin Taluqdars’ College, Lucknow. During his student days, he was fond of swimming, music and dramatics. During his initial years while working, he also acted in a couple of plays that were staged in Mumbai and Kolkatta. Though professionally connected with various types of machines and equipment , it is this part of his background that in its own way has contributed to his capability to express himself from time to time through poems and songs. Since 1983 Having been a Guest Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, Alok is presently a Director in the Jaypee Group of Companies.
